A topic that should be discussed more often.
Makeup brush cleaning, do you take care of your brushes?
Makeup brushes over time can become so full of bacteria and lose there integrity.
I have a simple recipe that I’ve used a handful of times now, testing before publishing. They are many variations and while they all work this one is my favorite yet. Being the most efficient. I will include the variations, also.
With this cleaning method you will need to, “swish”, the brushes do not use force. You don’t want to damage them. As with ALL brushes of any kind, never use hot water either! Cold water only. Let’s get to it!
You will need:
•Two small jars or bowls
•Distilled water, boiled water (cooled), spring water, or purified water
• baby shampoo, dish soap OR
•olive oil, fractionated coconut oil or almond oil
• essential oils *not necessary
I have used lavender and I’ve used grapefruit. You would only use a drop or two
For this particular mix I used the following ingredients and it was my absolute favorite with the best results.
•Castile soap with lavender
With Castile soap, I was able to skip the oil and the essential oils because it has both in it!
